We Are Family, A Pride Collective Monthly Event

We Are Family is a non-profit group associated with the FM Pride Collective, dedicated to providing safe, fun, family-friendly activities for LGBTQ adults, teens, young adults... and their families. Although our activities are always child-friendly, you don't have to have children to attend.

Recently, we both widened and sharpened our focus to include LGBTQ teens and young adults. The national media's coverage of tragedies relating to LGBTQ young people has brought to light the very real difficulties our youth are facing-- suicide, drug abuse and homelessness, often as a result of constant bullying and familial or societal rejection. Many of these kids do not receive enough encouragement that there is life beyond high school and college.

Inspired by the "It Gets Better Campaign," we want to provide a safe place for people of all ages to gain a sense of community and support. Especially for our youth, spending time with people who have been where they are now offers cause to keep living, plan for a future and pursue an education-- despite the difficulties and discrimination we all sometimes face. There is a wonderful life ahead, it's worth living.

For adults, this is a chance to inspire others, have a blast and give back to the community. If you have children of your own, it's a great opportunity to meet other people in the community who have also started growing their families in the traditional sense. Families of LGBTQ people of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Glitter Gala

On Friday, November 4th join the Pride Collective and We Are Family in a night of sparkle and entertainment as we raise money for acceptance, inclusion, respect and life.

Bid on truly outstanding and unique silent auction items. Be delighted with performances by the incorrigible ladies of Bad Weather Burlesque and the premier performance by The Kings of Grandeur. Theatre B will be doing a funny and pointed reading, sure to delight. All held together by the comedic genius JD Provorse and musical mastery of DJ LS.

This is a 21 and over event.
